About the event
Caleb Griffin: Now then, why do we speak like this? Accents and Dialects around Lincolnshire
A fascinating talk explaining how Lincolnshire accents and dialects developed and spread over time.
Caleb grew up in Theddlethorpe, and recently achieved a first-class honours degree in Languages from Aberystwyth University. He is particularly interested in schematics: pinpointing how dialects and languages develop because of historical events, migrations and invasion.
The village hall will be open for food and drinks from 6.30pm with the talk starting at 7.30pm.
No need to book, just turn up.
£3 per person.
