​WELCOME!​



A Local History Club based in the Lincolnshire Marsh village of Theddlethorpe, near Mablethorpe.  Bringing together history buffs in the area to meet, socialise and learn about the fascinating stories and hidden past of our beautiful rural coast.

​

The History Club meet on 3rd Tuesday of the month, usually at Theddlethorpe Village Hall.  The hall will be open from 6.30 pm for food and drinks with talks usually starting at 7.30 pm.

​

We have a number of expert guest speakers lined up to give presentations.

​

Every other Friday at 10am there's a group walk around a local area, learning about its heritage as we go.

Tuesday 15th July: Caleb Griffin: Now Then, Why do We Speak Like This?, Accents and Dialects around Lincolnshire

A look at how dialects and languages develop due to historical events, migrations and invasion.  Exploring the evolution of the Lincolnshire Accent and Dialects around the county.

Caleb Griffin from Theddlethorpe is currently at the University of Aberytstwyth studying languages.

​

Everyone Welcome, no need to book, just come along, pay on the door

 

Theddlethorpe Village Hall, Silver Street, LN12 1PA, will be open for food and drinks from 6.30pm.  The Show and Tell starts at 7.30pm.​
